As Indians, we are big on our idea of celebrations when it is the festive season or special events of life. It is a grand affair because we believe that happiness multiplies when shared with your loved ones, and what's a celebration if not a glorious one. Being the quirky fashion enthusiast that I am, I usually do not like repeating outfits unless ofcourse I can recreate a new look with it. I had picked up this Golden Lehenga from one of the local stores during one of my shopping sprees to prepare for a family wedding. I can never follow the trends in fashion, because hey how will you stand out otherwise. I remember when I picked up this lehenga a couple of years back, traditional gowns had suddenly found all this attention and the concept of lehengas and cholis or sarees for the wedding season looked faded.
I was not sure how I was going to pair up the lehenga but because I loved it when I first saw it, I decided to buy it anyway. I wanted to try our unconventional combinations and not jump in the band wagon of the fashion trends. So here are the three looks that I managed to put together through the various occasions that demanded a traditional attire!
With my sheer favoritism towards Black, I decided I was going to play it safe with a Black and Gold combination. For one of the family wedding, I paired the lehenga with a saree blouse and threw over a dupatta and luckily it all matched up fine. Accessorized the attire with a combination of gold and black bracelets because I am not a big fan of bangles. And voila... the compliments kept coming.
For another wedding, I thought of attempting to the Gold on Gold outfit and I was utterly skeptical because it was my first attempt with the whole kurta on lehenga trend. I had picked up the golden kurta from a friend's mother who runs her business in fabrics and traditional wears. But I think I slayed it with the whole look and added a little dash of black in the accessories to add some color.
A yearly catch up with friends and family is a must during Diwali and because the pandemic did not allow me to shop this year, here's what I recreated. I wanted to feel the festive vibe but didn't want to go overboard as well, so I wore one of my formal tops with the lehenga. Donned a beautiful neckpiece with it and ta-da! With the whole year feeling a blah, I'd say this evening was an absolute madness.
I wasn't a fan of the Golden color but trying these looks and getting those flattering remarks has been absolutely amazing. That's about it from me. I hope you loved these looks. Until next time... Stay Sexy!
