“Courage is grace under pressure.” —Ernest Hemingway
Another year ends of this lifetime as I inch closer toward my journey of infinite. With another birthday celebrated, another few chapters of life lessons have been learned. This year, brought along a lot of Courage.
The courage to go across miles, just to see a loved one's smile.
The courage to allow, the vulnerability to flow.
The courage to let them hold you, through those apprehensions.
The courage to hold them, knowing they would pinch your gut.
The courage to be alone, in the most challenging times.
The courage to celebrate on my own, when they wouldn't show up.
The courage to forget those memories, that fill the heart with love.
The courage to pass on, that which excites the heart but not the mind.
The courage to be silent, when there was a whole lot to speak.
The courage to walk away, when all I wanted to do was stay.
The courage to let go, of the fondest of moments.
The courage to let loose of the anchor that held my soul,
The courage to find myself back again as solace graced my existence,
The courage to restart the journey of self - love...
The courage to choose my own happiness...
And lastly,
The courage to choose me!
As Richard Yates, says "If you wanted to do something absolutely honest, something true, it always turned out to be a thing that had to be done alone.” Your strength is always redefined with each and every experience, as you hold your ground and find the pieces of the puzzle that will indulge your heart and soul in this game of life!
