"When humans fail, cinema rescues."
- Twinkle Dalal
Oh I wonder what would I become today if it weren't for those endless cinema binging hours that came to my rescue when sadness and loneliness creeped on to every nerve of mine. Life has blessed with numerous challenges but only a few human beauties that could tell me about how to sail through those storms.
I have craved the joy of conversations, because it can have such a tremendous impact in helping us form our beliefs, get out of our overthinking rut, find inspiration, let go of our own inhibitions. Turns out, when you crave something for very long, the universe does offer a replacement. For all the times that I desired to go through the catharsis of emotions and couldn't find any human to myself, it was the world of stories that sewed my heart with every possible emotion that I was craving. Thus when the opportunity arises to write a book, my gut instinct new that it had to be something around the world of cinema.
You don’t have to be an expert to start writing. You just need the courage to begin. With Popcorn Philosophy my goal is to give a hearty hug to each and every individual who has felt the absence of love, lack of parental affection and seen the best of their friends withering away into nothingness. We are all sailing the same boat, and while we may not be aware of why hell seems to have broken lose on only us, there are moments of greatness and opportunities to heal around us that we can choose to identify and follow.
The book speaks about how I built my resilience with one movie at a time, learnt to manage my emotions along with the characters that found space in my heart and finally came to terms with dealing a whole lot of fears through different healing modalities. I hope you give it a read and write me your thoughts on casualabstractions@gmail.com.
